We are delighted to announce that Olliers has been shortlisted for four awards at this year’s Manchester Legal Awards.
We have been shortlisted for:
- Crime Team of the Year
- Janet O’Keefe – Unsung Hero of the Year
- Nicola Bruce – Solicitor of the Year
- Ruth Peters – Partner of the Year
Run by Manchester Law Society, the awards are an annual celebration of Manchester’s legal talent. Finalists are determined by a panel of well-respected individuals from the business, legal and academic community across the Northwest.
Judging will take place on Friday 6th June with the winners announced at a glitzy ceremony at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel on 3rd July 2025.
Crime Team of the Year
Olliers have won the Crime Team of the Year Award on seven occasions during recent years, most recently last year.

Janet O’Keefe shortlisted Unsung Hero of the Year
Janet is an integral part of Olliers having been our Practice Manager for many years and celebrated her 40-year anniversary with the firm last Summer.

Nicola Bruce shortlisted Solicitor of the Year
Nicola started her career with Olliers over 20 years ago qualifying as a solicitor in 2003. Nicola then left the firm to pursue a career with the Crown Prosecution Service as a Senior Crown Prosecutor. She re-joined Olliers as a Senior Associate Solicitor in 2023 bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience and the advantage of having worked as both a defence and prosecuting lawyer.
Ruth Peters shortlisted Partner of the Year
Ruth has been with Olliers for more than 20 years and won Solicitor of the Year at the Manchester Legal Awards in 2021. She was appointed a director in 2021 and leads our business development, marketing and new enquiry teams.
Previous Manchester Legal Awards
In 2024 and 2023 Olliers won Crime Team of the Year and in 2022 we won ‘Small Law firm of the Year’ at the Awards. In 2021 the firm won four awards at the Manchester Legal Awards: Crime Team of the Year, Small Firm, Managing Director Matthew Claughton won Partner of the Year and Ruth Peters won Solicitor of the Year.
