The Olliers Internship Programme

Every year Olliers holds a paid Summer internship programme at our Manchester office.

The 2023 summer internship programme ran over the summer of 2023 and we subsequently recruited a number of the 2023 interns into permanent positions.

Applications for the 2024 internship programme are now closed. We are currently reviewing applications and will contact applicants shortly.

The Olliers Academy

Our people are the key to our success. Through the Olliers Academy, we offer a comprehensive, ongoing education and training. Our programme covers technical and skills and includes personal development, marketing and practice management. It is tailored to the needs of every member of the Olliers team. The Academy guarantees that all cases are consistently dealt with to the highest possible standards (‘the Olliers way’).

The Olliers Career Path

We provide a transparent ‘career path’ for all lawyers. We clearly set out the areas we have identified as being crucial for the continuing success of our business. At Olliers any lawyer can move through the ranks of Associate, Senior Associate and then Partner.

We often refer to the ‘Olliers family’ and it is the culture within the firm that holds everything together.


We offer a supportive and collaborative environment for all our team. We offer flexible working conditions. Our lawyers combine a level of home and office working from our Deansgate base.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We regard ourselves as an integral part of the community in which we work and for many years we have taken our responsibility to our community very seriously. All members of the Olliers team participate in our CSR programme, supporting the numerous initiatives we are involved in every year.


The wellbeing of the Olliers team is at the heart of everything we do. We organise fortnightly wellbeing activities for small groups which allow for relaxation and ‘time out’ from the law. We provide a confidential Employee Assistance programme, which is open to all employees and family members.

Awards and rankings:

We are the Manchester Legal Awards Crime Team of the Year 2023. We are a Times Best Law Firm 2024.  We were the Manchester Legal Awards 2022 Small Law Firm of the Year.

At the 2021 Manchester Legal Awards 2021 we won the awards for both ‘Law Firm of the Year’ and ‘Crime Team of the Year’. Our Managing Director Matthew Claughton is the Northern Powerhouse Criminal Lawyer of the Year 2023. He was also the Manchester Legal Awards Partner of the Year 2021 an award he has won twice. Fellow director Ruth Peters was Solicitor of the Year 2021 at the same awards.  We are ranked in both the authoritative guides to the profession, namely the Legal 500 2024 and Chambers Guide 2024.
