Olliers Solicitors sets new industry benchmark with firm-wide Client Care Accreditation

Written 12th January 2026 by Olliers Solicitors

Olliers Solicitors’ team of 29 experienced criminal lawyers have all officially passed the newly launched Olliers Client Care Accreditation exam.

The scheme, launched by us last September, was created to formalise our core value of providing unmatched client care across all client touchpoints.

Each lawyer was given the opportunity to sit the accreditation, along with three support staff, who received tailored training for their role in triaging new enquiries. Each team member underwent 12 hours of training before sitting a two-part exam to become officially accredited in their ability to deliver exceptional client care.

Topics covered included what is effective communication, how to manage client expectations, Lexcel compliance and the importance of proactivity in client care.

Matthew Claughton, Olliers Solicitors Managing Director:

“Olliers takes accreditation seriously. All lawyers work towards the Law Society’s Police Station and Criminal Litigation accreditations. But where no external accreditation exists, we innovate.

We are the only crime team, which we are aware of, with its’ own training academy offering comprehensive, ongoing education and training. Our programme covers technical skills and includes personal development, marketing and practice management. As excellence in client service is a standard embedded in every aspect of our work, it was paramount that we formalised these standards of client care.

Official training and accreditation helps us guarantee and evidence exceptional client care – a principle that shapes our culture and guides all our actions.”

Olliers’ Accreditations

In recent years we have launched several industry-first initiatives, including:

  • The Olliers Pre-Charge Accreditation Scheme, cementing our leadership in pre-charge work
  • The Olliers Crown Court Accreditation, introduced in 2024, further raising standards in advocacy

In 2026, we are also developing an AI accreditation to ensure the firm stays at the cutting edge of AI literacy across all aspects of legal practice.

Matthew added:

“Congratulations to everyone on passing this accreditation.. I am immensely proud of every single member of the firm and how they show up every day for our clients.

We can point to our awards and rankings and we are rightly proud of our industry-first accreditations and our exceptional internal training. But, this is all born out of our day-to-day commitment to our clients and our understanding that anyone can become caught up in the criminal justice system.

If that should happen, then everyone deserves the right to the best legal defence and the most human support through their darkest times.”

The firm’s commitment to client care excellence is also formalised our Service Pledge which is upheld through rigorous compliance monitoring and continuous feedback.
