Team Olliers have decided not only to complete the Manchester Legal Walk on Thursday 28th September 2017 but also to complete a 50km Peak District walk on Saturday 23rd September 2017, both events in support of the North West Legal Support Trust.
Olliers Solicitors 50km Challenge
The Peak District challenge is to take place on Saturday 23rd September 2017 stating at 08.30am in the Peak District. We will commence from Hathersage and walk up Hope Valley until we reach Castleton. We will then turn south to join the Limestone Way going past Peveril Castle and then track through the valley nature reserve of Hay Dale. We will then take a lovely walk through the idyllic white peak villages and the Derbyshire Dales nature reserves as we approach Middleton Moor. We will continue to Baslow before we take the final climb up the Euston Edges. We will then continue passing some iconic Peak District views until we rejoin the Derwent Valley heritage trail and follow the course of the river back to Hathersage. The aim of the challenge is to complete the 50km walk inside a 12 hour target before we enjoy a well-deserved celebratory drink.
Team Olliers
Our 50k Peak Challenge Team comprises of Laura Baumanis, Zita Spencer, David Philpott, David Abbott, Matthew Claughton and Max Saffman. The walk comes nearly 12 months after we completed the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge in September 2016. Last year’s challenge proved a phenomenal success and we all are eager to complete another despite the memories of the aching limbs on the last occasion.
Olliers Solicitors Manchester Legal Walk
Once we have recovered from the Peak District Challenge we are then completing the Manchester Legal Walk. The Manchester Legal Walk is a 10km sponsored walk around Manchester City Centre on Thursday 28th September 2017 to raise money for local legal advice services through the North West Legal Support Trust. You are not required to be a legal professional to take part in the Manchester Legal Walk. Please feel free to come and join us as part of Team Olliers.
North West Legal Support Trust
Fundraising for both Olliers events will go to the North West Legal Support Trust. The North West Legal Support Trust (NWLST) is a grant making charity. It raises and distributes funds to support legal advice services and access to justice services throughout the North West of England.
The charities supported by the NWLST help to facilitate and support access to justice for some of the poorest, vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society. They provide free legal help to individuals facing problems including homelessness, debt, employment, family issues, mental health problems, discrimination and injustice.
We will be delighted if you would like to sponsor us. Please click here to visit our sponsorship page.
David Philpott, Director, commented:
“At Olliers Solicitors we care about the community within which we work. The NWLST is an extremely valuable charity and Olliers are delighted to be supporting them through these two challenges. Everyone at Olliers has seen at first hand the effects of cuts to legal aid and it is vital that we ensure the most disadvantaged members of society continue to be able to access justice’.
