Olliers Solicitors Crown Court Accreditation Scheme

Written 14th December 2023 by Alex Close-Claughton

At Olliers Solicitors we aim to provide the highest quality representation for our clients. We represent clients at all stages of proceedings, including at the police station, the pre charge stage, the magistrates’ court and at the crown court. We have many solicitors who are vastly experienced in all aspects of criminal law but we also have a number of newly qualified and trainee solicitors who are at the start of their careers. We are able to provide the same level of representation by all our members of staff through a combination of careful supervision by our senior lawyers and via our Olliers Academy.

The Olliers’ Academy

Our Academy is an internal training programme that ensures high standards of representation throughout our firm. It offers comprehensive, ongoing education and training, covering technical skills, personal development, marketing and practice management. It is tailored to the needs of every member of the Olliers’ team, guaranteeing consistently high standards. This distinguishes us from other criminal firms who do not have the same kind of quality assurance in place.

Crown Court Accreditation Scheme

For a number of years, we have had an internal accreditation scheme for our lawyers who undertake work at the pre-charge stage. This is an industry first and we have had great success in this area, consistently achieving outstanding results for our clients. This is why we are now pleased to announce the commencement of our Crown Court Accreditation scheme. The scheme is spearheaded by Alex Close-Claughton who is an Associate Solicitor at Olliers. He has been with us since 2014 and has many years’ experience of Crown Court litigation. Alex has developed the accreditation scheme with our trainees and newly qualified solicitors in mind. The accreditation scheme requires our lawyers to undertake a written examination and complete a portfolio of work examples. Going forwards, all of our newly qualified and trainee solicitors will be required to undertake this accreditation before they take on a Crown Court case load. This ensures that they have the knowledge and experience to confidently and competently represent clients in the Crown Court. It also safeguards the continuation of the fantastic standard of representation for clients in the Crown Court that Olliers already offers.

It is vital that individuals facing proceedings in the Crown Court are represented by a lawyer who has specialist knowledge. At Olliers our dedicated accreditation scheme equips our team with the expertise needed to navigate the complexities of even the most challenging of cases. We are committed to providing unparalleled legal advice and assistance. Our proven track record shows how dedicated we are to achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients.

If you or someone you know is facing the daunting prosect of appearing before the Crown Court, then trust in our experience and diligent training scheme – contact us today.
