At Olliers Solicitors, we have strengthened our Regulatory Team with the appointment of experienced specialist Paul Loughlin as partner.

Paul joins us from Stephensons Solicitors, where he was a partner and led its road transport regulation team, advising HGV and PSV operators on matters such as licensing, public inquiries, financial standing and maintenance compliance.

Paul’s appointment further strengthens our regulatory offering as we continue to build our specialist legal teams and expand the expertise available to clients.

Throughout his career, Paul has developed extensive experience in regulatory law and brings a strong understanding of the challenges faced by the individuals and organisations we support in highly regulated environments.

Gareth Martin, Head of the Regulatory Team at Olliers, said:

Paul’s appointment is a strong signal of our commitment to regulatory defence work.

“His experience not only complements our existing expertise across professional discipline, health and safety, inquests and public enquiries but also enhances our offering through his experience in licensing and transport matters.”

Ruth Peters, Business Development Director at Olliers, said:

“Paul joining our Regulatory Team is a further indication that Olliers really are able to offer a truly holistic approach to defence work.

“We have dedicated expertise across criminal and regulatory matters and have demonstrated that our expertise in all of these areas is of the very highest standard.”

Paul brings more than 16 years’ experience as a solicitor to Olliers, including representing individuals and businesses facing investigations and prosecutions by a wide range of enforcement bodies, including the Police, Crown Prosecution Service, HMRC, Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, Financial Conduct Authority, Trading Standards, the Traffic Commissioner and the DVSA

He is well known in the sector for regulatory and enforcement work, including environmental offences, health and safety prosecutions, investigations under caution, criminal proceedings and civil regulatory sanctions.

This appointment follows a period of continued growth for Olliers, as we have established a strong reputation for specialist criminal defence work and expanded our expertise across related areas of law.

Paul’s arrival adds further senior experience to our regulatory team and reflects our commitment to providing specialist advice and representation to clients facing complex regulatory issues.
