Olliers is looking to recruit an experienced criminal practitioner to strengthen our team of 20 lawyers.
We represent clients facing serious criminal allegations, allegations of fraud, regulatory offences and professional disciplinary matters. We also act in inquests and public inquiries. We have a strong reputation for representing clients during the ‘pre charge’ stage of a criminal case.
We are looking for an experienced criminal practitioner (at least 10 years PQE) with a good working knowledge of criminal investigations, the charging process and pre-charge engagement. Caseload would involve a significant number of pre-charge cases together with ongoing representation of cases prosecuted in the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court.
We would expect a good working knowledge of;
- DPP’s Guidance on Charging 2020
- AG’s Guidelines on Disclosure 2020 (and Annex B pre charge engagement)
- The 2018 Code for Crown Prosecutors
At Olliers professional and career development is paramount. We want all our lawyers to become leaders in their particular field of criminal defence work. Great emphasis is placed upon personal marketing.
We place great importance on the training and development of junior lawyers and the role would include involvement in the training, development and supervision of trainees and junior lawyers.
