Olliers Solicitors is seeking a highly experienced solicitor to join our award winning team in Manchester. With a team of over 30 lawyers, we specialise in serious criminal allegations, fraud, sexual offences, regulatory offences, professional disciplinary matters, inquests and public inquiries.
We are particularly renowned for our expertise in proactive pre-charge engagement and are known for our creative and dynamic attitude to problem solving offering a tailored approach to every case.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced criminal defence solicitor with:
- A strong background in criminal investigations and defence.
- Proven experience in pre-charge engagement and the charging process.
- Confidence handling a caseload that includes pre-charge investigations, Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court proceedings.
You will receive in-depth training in pre-charge engagement and be fast-tracked through our internal pre-charge accreditation, with emphasis upon:
- DPP’s Guidance on Charging (DG6) (2020)
- Attorney General’s Guidelines on Disclosure (2024) including Annex B on pre-charge engagement
- Code for Crown Prosecutors (2018)
This role also involves mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and trainees, contributing to their development through the Olliers Academy.
