Olliers Solicitors is delighted to welcome our new trainee solicitor Sami Halpern who joins the firm today.
Sami Halpern – Trainee Solicitor Criminal Defence
Sami has an excellent academic record having received a first class honours degree at the University of Liverpool where he was awarded the George Stern prize. He completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law in Manchester receiving a commendation. Since then he has worked as a paralegal gaining a variety of experience at a number of firms. Sami is committed to a career in criminal defence and relishes the opportunity to develop a career in an area where the stakes are so high.
Sami has also undertaken a variety of voluntary work at Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, Refugee Action Manchester and Salford City Citizen’s Advice Bureau. Sami is also a keen runner and completed the London Marathon in 2015 raising money for Anti-Slavery International.

Olliers has a reputation for excellent training with eleven out of our eighteen solicitors having trained with the firm. Directors Matthew Claughton and David Abbott both trained at Olliers and Sami will be Matthew’s 27th trainee solicitor. Recent qualifiers have gained experience in a wide variety of areas with many having undertaken secondments at outside firms to gain experience of other areas of law. Our most recently qualified solicitor Saskia Abbot qualified earlier this year and recently attended the Newly Qualified Civic Ceremony for newly qualified solicitors at Manchester Town Hall.
