Olliers experience of defending insurance fraud allegations dates back many years. The firm’s reputation for committed and rigorous defence work means that we attract some of the most complex fraud cases in the country.
Insurance fraud is a broad term that involves any criminal offence intended to lead to a payment from an insurance company. These offences cost the insurance industry hundreds of millions of pounds a year and can range from false domestic insurance claims, some involving over claiming others involving completely false claims, through to far more sophisticated offences. Businesses are often wrongly accused of commercial insurance fraud involving fire or flood damage.
The motor industry for example has been besieged by so called ‘crash for cash’ claims which, when uncovered, have been prosecuted as large scale conspiracies. Olliers have considerable experience of such claims and have had notable successes in this area in particular.
