Matthew Claughton wins Crime Lawyer of the Year at Northern Powerhouse Awards

Olliers Solicitors are delighted to announce that our Managing Director Matthew Claughton has won the Crime Lawyer of the Year Award at the Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards 2023. The awards were held on the 2^nd of March 2023 and were the inaugural Northern Powerhouse awards hosted by the Legal 500. The shortlist and winners were determined based on the Legal 500’s market leading independent research for the annual UK Solicitors Guide. Winners were selected by a judging team spearheaded by the Legal 500 UK research team. The awards were a fantastic evening held at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.

Matthew Claughton – Crime Lawyer of the Year

Matthew is Olliers’ Managing Director, leading a team of over 20 lawyers acting for clients facing serious criminal allegations, accusations of fraud as well as those facing criticism before professional bodies. He leads the Olliers’ pre-charge team, specialising in representing clients throughout the investigative stage of a case. Matthew was ranked as a Leading Individual by the Legal 500 and has previously won the Manchester Legal Awards Partner of the Year award on two occasions, most recently in 2021. He is also a previous winner of the Modern Law Awards Lawyer of the Year.
