Once again a team from Olliers will be participating in the Manchester Legal Walk. This year’s event takes place in the City Centre on 1st October 2015 and involves a sponsored 10km walk.
The Walk is to raise funds for the North West Legal Support Trust. The Trust supports organisations in the North West that provide free legal advice such as law centres and advice services. Spending cuts and the recession have both increased poverty and reduced support services. Organisations funded by the Trust deal with issues including homelessness, destitution, assisting older people to gain support and helping the victims of trafficking.
This year’s Walk has a Magna Carta theme. This is to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Charter and to highlight its importance and relevance to access to justice today.
