CRIMINAL CASES REVIEW COMMISSION REFERS MARTIN FORAN CASE TO THE COURT OF APPEAL 27 YEARS AFTER ORIGINAL CONVICTION

Written 3rd January 2013 by Olliers Solicitors

The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) has referred Olliers client Martin Foran to the Court of Appeal some 27 years after his original conviction.

Martin Foran was convicted of robbery offences and sentenced to six years in custody at Birmingham Crown Court in 1985. Appeals were dismissed in 1986 and 1995 and the matter was taken up by the CCRC in 2011.

Tracy Gibbon of Olliers states:

“We have always believed in Martin’s innocence and finally, some 27 years after his original trial he will have an opportunity to prove it.”
