Hope Rea

Hope joined the firm in 2022 after graduating with a first class degree in law from the University of Manchester. During the course of her studies, Hope completed an internship with Olliers in 2020 and maintained a relationship with the firm prior to her training contract. Hope started as a member of reception and has been an integral member of the support team. Hope commenced her training contract in September 2023.

 Hope is involved in a broad range of case work in the police station, pre-charge stage and in the Magistrates and Crown Courts. She also assists with preparation of Ancillary cases involving the Disclosing and Barring Service and the removal or variation of ancillary orders. Hope has assisted senior solicitors on a range of serious Crown Court matters including trials involving murder, drugs conspiracy and sexual offences. Hope has also assisted with Magistrates Trials including domestic violence offences and indecent image offences.

Hope is progressing through her Legal Practice Course (LPC) which she started in September 2023 at The University of Law.

Hope is currently working towards completion of her Police Station Accreditation. Hope is also completing the internal  Crown Court accreditation and will be undertaking the pre-charge accreditation.

Recent Cases

2024 LG – DBS case in which client successfully avoided inclusion on the Barred Lists whereby the client was a healthcare assistant accused of poor and inappropriate behaviour and failing to follow care plan procedure.

R v DW – Motoring offence of failure to provide a blood specimen being dealt with at trial at the Magistrates Court discontinued before trial.

R v DB – Magistrates trial involving domestic abuse allegations of common assault

R v SD – Magistrates trial involving breach of notification requirements

R v DA – Police application for a Domestic Violence Prevention Order withdrawn at court

R v TM– Possession with intent to supply drugs conspiracy matter in the Crown Court
