Our newly qualified solicitor Saskia Abbot was privileged to receive an invite to the Newly Qualified Civic Ceremony at Manchester Town Hall yesterday evening Monday 16th November 2015.
Manchester Solicitors – Specialist Criminal Defence
In welcoming new solicitors into the profession, Saskia was stood side by side with the President of the Manchester Law Society and the Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester.
The new solicitors made the following promise:
“I promise to discharge diligently my duties and responsibilities as a solicitor. I will protect my independence as a lawyer, uphold the Rule of Law and act at all times with integrity. I will justify the confidence and trust that is placed in me by my clients, the courts, and the public and by my profession.”
They were then presented with certificates by the President of the Manchester Law Society and the Lord Mayor in recognition of admission into the profession.
After some inspirational words and an opportunity for photographs, it was time to celebrate their achievements with family and friends at a champagne reception.
Saskia commented:
“It was fantastic that I was given the opportunity to meet the Lord Mayor of Manchester and I am privileged to have shared a few words with him. It was also really nice to share this experience with my fellow newly qualified solicitors who have worked so hard to be here today.”

Saskia is currently based in our Magistrates Department, managing a variety of cases on a day to day basis. In the Crown Court, Saskia has acted on behalf of defendants in a diverse range of serious cases, covering everything from conspiracy to commit murder and perverting the course of justice, to robbery, false imprisonment and firearms offences. She is also an active participant in the Olliers police station rota, attending police stations across Greater Manchester to help where required. Saskia’s supportive and knowledgeable approach is praised by clients and her hard word and determination will always serve her clients’ best interests.
