PINSON, JEREMY

Jeremy joined Olliers in 2000 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2003.

Jeremy specialises in Public Law and has represented  serving prisoners for the last eight years.  He has been involved in various reported cases including R (on the application of Cannan) –v- Governor of HMP Full Sutton and another (Court of Appeal 2003- legal documents), R (on the application of Noye) –v- Governor of HMP Whitemoor)( Conditions within the Special Secure Unit).

Restraint and Receivership - Jeremy has a national reputation. He conducted the Guideline Case on Receivers; Robert Anthony Capewell and the Commission of HM Customs & Excise (House of Lords 2006). Capewell –v-Customs & Excise v Another 2004 Court of Appeal Civil, introducing a “Capewell Guidelines” for the appointment of Management Receivers.

Confiscation – currently involved in a number of very high profile Criminal Justice Act VAT Carousel Confiscation Cases, the largest of which involves just under £200 million.  Jeremy was also instructed by three clients in one of the largest ARA Civil Recovery Actions and continues to be instructed in the defence of various SOCA civil recovery claims.

As well as being a member of The Law Society Jeremy is also a member of The Proceeds of Crime Lawyers Association.
